Offenbach – The 33rd match day is coming up in the Regionalliga Südwest and Kickers Offenbach is a guest at VfL Aalen. The match kicks off on Sunday (April 10th, 2022) at 2 p.m. in the Ostalb Arena in Aalen.
OFC visiting VfR Aalen
The last two OFC games have been canceled and postponed to another date. The game at Bahlinger SC did not take place due to the weather, in the duel with TSG Balingen the game committee of the Regionalliga Südwest GbR approved a request from Kickers Offenbach to cancel the game. The basis for the decision is the order of the Offenbach city health department, according to which the entire OFC squad is prohibited from entering the stadium from April 6th, 2022 to April 8th, 2022.
However, the game at VfR Aalen will take place and is the beginning of intensive weeks for the OFC, who have to play numerous games. In the table of the Regionalliga Südwest, Kickers Offenbach is in fourth place with 57 points and is seven points behind leader Ulm. However, the SSV has already played two more games.
OFC still in the middle of the fight for promotion
The fight for promotion to the 3rd league continues to escalate. Five clubs have the chance to leave the regional league up. In addition to SSV Ulm and Kickers Offenbach, there are SV Elversberg, TSV Steinbach Haiger and FSV Mainz 05. Only the champions of the Regionalliga Südwest will be able to celebrate promotion in the end.
VfR Aalen, Kickers Offenbach’s next opponent, is in twelfth place in the Regionalliga Südwest and still needs points to ensure they stay up in the league. The lead over the first relegation zone is only four points. The first leg on the Bieberer Berg between OFC and Aalen was a clear thing for the hosts. In the end it was 4-0 for Kickers Offenbach, who even awarded a penalty kick. Goal scorers for coach Sreto Ristic’s team were Denis Huseinbasic, Dejan Bozic, Maik Vetter and Mathias Fetsch. (smr)
