A raise without a raise? Yes, in less than three months, starting in July, most Poles will receive higher salaries without applying for a raise from their boss. Thanks to the reduction of the first tax threshold from 17 percent. up to 12 percent because we will pay less tax, which means higher “on hand” payments. We counted how much people will gain depending on the gross amount guaranteed by their contract of employment – from the lowest salaries to quite high ones. So check how much more you will get in July and the following months!
The improvement of the Polish Tax Order was supposed to concern mainly entrepreneurs and other groups of taxpayers harmed by the lack of the right to a tax relief for the middle class. It will end with the abolition of this relief and the reduction of the first tax threshold from 17 percent. up to 12 percent – for everyone. Since this relief was supposed to be a shield against the effects of the abolition of the right to deduct almost the entire health insurance contribution from tax, what will be the effect of the new changes especially for those who, apart from everything else, lose the relief for the middle class, i.e. those who earn full-time jobs? Who will gain and who will lose?
It is not as simple as it seems at first glance – if it was only a reduction in the tax rate, everything would be clear. at the same time, however, the relief for the middle class will be abolished – incidentally, after only a few months of operation – and it will cease to provide protection. And this means that lowering the tax rate itself will in many cases yield less than the liquidation of the tax relief and the balance may be negative, not positive. Therefore, it is worth analyzing specific calculations.
