Tribunners, artificial sweeteners are often considered healthier than sugar, especially for people who are losing weight because they are low in calories.

A new study, published March 24 in the journal PLOS Medicine, found an association between artificial sweeteners and risk cancer.
The study was carried out by researchers from the Sorbonne Paris Nord University’s French Institute for Health and Medical Research, the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers, and the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment in Paris.
The research team analyzed the histories of 102,865 adults who took part. Using data from 2009 to 2021.
The participants provided reports on their medical records, sociodemographic data, and physical activity carried out.
In addition, the people involved in this study were also asked to tell about their lifestyle and health conditions.
During the study, the participants provided details about the food intake consumed within a 24-hour period.
Please note, 78.5% of participants in this study were women and 37% of them admitted to frequently consuming artificial sweeteners.
On average they get artificial sweeteners from soft drinks, while the rest comes from other foods such as yogurt or cottage cheese.
