WHATSAPP back to updating their features. Quoted from Antara, WhatsApp reportedly stopped the automatic saving feature for media sent in the form of “Dissapearing Messages” on the iPhone.
“Dissapearing Messages” are messages that a user can send but can disappear within a set time after being opened by the recipient of the message.
Launching Mac Rumors, Saturday, normally this feature will automatically save image or video messages that have been opened to the iPhone gallery.
However, with the latest update from WhatsApp, later images or videos sent with “Dissapearing Messages” can be set so that they are no longer saved automatically.

The “Save to Camera Roll” option is now automatically turned off to clear chatter, meaning pictures, videos, and GIFs won’t be saved even if the general autosave setting is enabled.

This was done because it was feared that the previous feature removed the essence of “Dissapearing Messages” which focused on privacy.
If you really want to save a photo or video, the user can save it manually or take a screenshot. Reportedly later this feature will be out for all users of the iOS service system.
