JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD emphasized that it continues to support the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to immediately sell the shares of PT Delta Djakarta.
The chairman of the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Achmad Yani, assessed that this Ramadan is a momentum for the DKI Provincial Government to sell the shares of the company that produces alcoholic beverages.
“This affirmation fits with the momentum of the holy month of Ramadan so that the blessings in the capital can be felt by all citizens of Jakarta,” said Yani as quoted from a press release, Saturday (9/4/2022).

Moreover, he said, the sale of shares in PT Delta Djakarta had become a campaign promise for DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan when he was elected five years ago.
This is also a form of aspiration from the community to the PKS Faction.
“On March 16, 2022, we wrote to the chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD to schedule a meeting with the factions in the DPRD regarding the sale of PT Delta’s shares,” said Yani.
According to Yani, the proceeds from the sale of the shares can be used for the welfare of the people of DKI Jakarta.

Previously, he said, a similar thing had also been proposed by Sandiaga Uno while still serving as Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta.
At that time, Sandiaga proposed to auction the shares whose proceeds were used for the construction of schools and other facilities.
“In March 2021, DKI’s shares were 26.25 percent in PT Delta. The billions of funds could be used for useful things, such as procuring cheap cooking oil, building schools, and providing social assistance to the community,” he said.

The DKI Provincial Government then combined share ownership on behalf of the DKI Provincial Government and the DKI Jakarta Investment Management Agency to become 26.25 percent.
The merger, which was carried out in 2019, is one of the processes to sell Delta Djakarta shares.
In early 2021, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had again proposed the sale of ownership shares to the DKI Jakarta DPRD after receiving no response in previous years.
“The process is not like selling your own goods, there is a process, there are stages, including the approval of friends in the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD,” Riza said on January 3, 2021.

Riza said that in principle the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would continue to seek ownership of PT Delta’s shares for sale.
Executives in the DKI Provincial Government agree that all shares are sold and used for other needs.
“The process takes time,” said Riza.
