Vladimir Putin’s brutality was visible long before Butsja. But it was better to hope that it would pass.

The pictures and stories from Butsja shake the world. The world has – eerily enough – probably only seen a small glimpse of the atrocities.

Also in other areas of Ukraine, Russian forces have advanced with ruthlessness and violence. On Friday, Russia bombed a train station used to evacuate civilians. The Russians are still ravaging the southeast of the country. The battle for Mariupol is not over. There are many indications that Russia is preparing a new offensive.
