OKTAGON MMA returned to the toughest city in the country, Ostrava, after two years. And the audience really has something to look forward to. For example, the king of the fair scales David Kozma or the beloved and hated Václav Mikulášek will demonstrate their skills. He will really fight for a lot, the pre-match atmosphere has, of course, spread to the staredowns.

Undoubtedly the most watched was Tomáš “Bolo” Meliš and Václav Mikulášek. The battle of two former friends added to the atmosphere during the press conference, where very indiscriminate words flew through the air.

Surprisingly, nothing dramatically serious happened. Mikulášek, who has traditionally been in a positive mood, offered the opponent an unexpected handshake, to which Bolo reacted a few seconds later in the same way. Whether it was an honest gesture or a pretense, the spectators will find out in a few hours, when the two wrestlers will face each other in a cage.

The staredown of the main match of the tournament also took place with all due respect. The current champion of the fair weight David Kozma and the challenger of the ageless Petr Kníže faced each other. Staring into each eye, then showing respect when shaking hands. In addition, they added to the intensity the applause of the crowded audience, which wished more to the current champion. Does the fair weight know the new champion? Several elite fighters answered this question.

The funniest staredown took place among heavyweights. The shapely Nor Thomas Narmo had to do something to look fifty inches straight into Jeremy Kimball’s eyes. The height difference amused everyone present, both actors also had fun and it looked more like a clash between two friends.

Matěj Peňáz and the seasoned Italian Giovanni Melillo breathed a lot of attention into each other. After literally murderous exchanges of views, light pressure came from a foreign wrestler, who discreetly began to push his opponents. Also, this moment was taken by both beats in an exemplary manner, followed by smiles and handshakes.
