This image from the official Senate television broadcast shows the final vote count from 53 to 47. The three Republicans who joined the Democratic caucus were: Susan Collins of Maine; Lisa Murkowsky from Alaska and Mitt Romney from Utah. Previously, the three had voted to close the voting and before that to remove the nomination from the Judicial Committee, where it was “stalled” with an 11-vote tie.
