Perimeter of zones
In an attempt to curb the virus, the prefect of the Dordogne, Jean-Sébastien Lamontagne, issued a new order this Thursday morning aimed at widening the perimeter of the areas placed under protection and additional restricted areas. From now on, 30 municipalities against six so far are in the protection zone and 213 localities against 56 in the additional restricted zone.
In the protection zones located less than 3 km from the sources of contamination, depopulation operations have intensified over the past 24 hours. On this Thursday, April 7, 74,883 poultry were euthanized because infected or for prevention. This represents a total of 209 tonnes sent for rendering since the beginning of the epizootic in the Dordogne.
