The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal saw the musical remake West Side Story, directed by Steven Spielberg, for the first time. The actor shared his excitement with the film’s star, Rachel Zegler, on Twitter. The film was incredibly successful, earning seven Oscar nominations and winning in one category.
In response to Rachel Zegler’s birthday wishes to Pedro Pascal a few days ago, the latter replied with a comment referring to Spielberg’s film and the actress in particular: “There are 4 witnesses who saw them burst into tears when you appeared on the screen”.
Pedro Pascal isn’t the first celebrity to publicly praise Spielberg and his art and technical team for their work on West Side Story. A while back, Cher also praised the film, which saw one of its stars triumph in an important category; Ariana DeBose won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, earning the only statuette of the seven nominations made official by the Academy.
The remake of the film also includes Ansel Elgort, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Corey Stoll, Brian d’Arcy James, and Rita Moreno, star of the 1961 film, in its rich and large cast.
