Rémy Cabella is back in Montpellier (Hérault). Free since FK Krasnodar, in Russia, terminated his contract, the 32-year-old player signed until the end of the season at MHSC, the club with which he was champion of France, in 2012.
“Rémy was in rehabilitation here to treat an injury, confides Laurent Nicollin, the boss of the MHSC. Due to the current situation in Ukraine, we had the opportunity to hire him until the end of the season. Rémy wanted it, he should resume with the group quickly. It’s good for us, it’s good for him, and then we’ll see if the story continues next season (…) I hope he’s going to have a blast. »
“I wanted to play”
“I’ve been training here for a while, it tickled me,” says Rémy Cabella. I wanted to play, to feel the competition a bit. “It was by giving the fictitious kick-off of the meeting against Brest at La Mosson, on Sunday, that the ex-international had a click. “I felt like when I was younger, and I was like, ‘Why not? (…) I didn’t want to go out. I wanted to stay on the lawn, to play. I saw myself again in this stadium, when I visited it, at 12 years old, before signing here a few months later (…) I am happy to be here, I will give everything for the team. »
Rémy Cabella played at the MHSC between 2009 and 2014, after a few years in the junior section. He then played in Newcastle, Marseille and Saint-Étienne.
