Eure-et-Loir will shine with the return of Chartres in lightssince the Saturday, April 30, 2022 and which will last until January 14, 2023.
This grandiose and free animation offers its 19th editionaccessible seven days a week, from dusk until 1 a.m. in summer and 10:30 p.m. in winter.
The timeless and novelties of Chartres en lumière 2022
These are more than 20 sites of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) which are illuminated and highlighted by magical or historical scenographies. With, of course, essentials, such as the royal portal of Notre-Dame de Chartres cathedral, its north and south portals, the Saint-Pierre church, the theater, the media library or the Gloriette quay to name a few. …
The Hotel Montescot illuminated again!
The 2022 edition of Chartres en lumière obviously has some surprises in store, with new illuminated sites, such as the Hotel Montescot.
You can admire, on its facade, rue au Lin, a scenography of a few minutes entitled “Stone, sheet, scissors…”. It will highlight the history of this building located behind the administrative center, seen through the eyes of a child.

Elsewhere in town, St. Peter Streeteleven people who made Chartres will be highlighted: Father Franz Stock, Raymond Isidore Picplate, Jean Moulin, Chaim Soutine, Charles Péguy, Noël Ballay, François Séverin Marceau, Jérôme Pétion, Henri IV, Mathurin Régnier and Bishop Fulbert.
