Jan has decided to do it differently this time, to do it better. But the experts have their reservations after the ceremony and the guests in the room are also quite critical of the groom. It has not escaped their notice that Jan has not exactly shown his most courteous side. Birgitte also has to get used to it: “It’s a kind of discharge, a kind of: finally we know who it is,” she tells presenter Carlo Boszhard. “My feeling says for now that it’s all right (…) It’s still a bit uncomfortable and you’re complete strangers to each other, but it’s only just starting now.”
Her new husband Jan agrees: “It certainly feels good. Yes, I have a very good feeling about it.” When they give each other a kiss during the photo shoot, he also glows completely. Birgitte has that less, since Jan is not a man she would normally ‘turn around for’. “I’m positive about it. I started the experiment and I’m going to finish it completely. Do I have confidence in it? No idea.”

Joep and Caroline are less positive about it. The newlyweds have now returned from their honeymoon for two days, then living together is actually the next step, but Joep has been doubting for a while whether he still wants that and so expert Eveline Stallaart was called for advice and support. She thinks that Joep should not throw in the towel so quickly. “It is precisely in this experiment that we want you to look further and continue to show up. Only then will you see everything and the quarters will fall into place,” she says. “Only then can you say: was this a match, or was this not a match. Until then, you really shouldn’t stop with that.”
Joep especially misses the sexual attraction, he doesn’t feel it. “It doesn’t feel wrong, but it’s not fireworks either. You want that and I find that difficult,” he confesses to Eveline. “I think maybe a part of personality too. I think we’re quite different in that regard. That’s just a feeling and very hard to express, because she’s really not an ugly woman, very pretty. Everything just fits really. Just the spark, it doesn’t affect me.”

A clear story from Joep, but for Caroline his withdrawing movement is indeed a slap in the face. “He indicated when we came back via an app, and then via the phone, that he was thinking a lot about those differences. Especially that he is a bit more impulsive and busier and I a bit calmer… That’s how it is apparently on happened to him”, she also tells her side of the story to Eveline. Caroline would still like to try to live together with Joep. “I’m just like, we’re just going to do it and you just have to try it before you see if it works.”
Despite everything, they are going to try it together. “I’m glad we’re going to continue living together. It starts out a bit messy, with him going to work right away, but that’s no different and just part of it. I’m very curious about tomorrow, if we go something fun make sure that that familiar feeling returns.”
