The Regional Hemotherapy Center scheduled three days to collect blood from all groups and factors in the city of Salta, from Wednesday 6 to Friday 8, where potential bone marrow donors will also be registered.
The objective is to have a sufficient reserve of blood components for patients of all ages who need a transfusion. Collections will be made on the following days, places and times:
- Wednesday 6: Plaza Belgrano. From 8 to 13
- Thursday 7: Lord of the Miracle Hospital. From 8 to 13
- Friday 8: High NOA Shopping. from 10 to 15
Collections will be made on the donation mobile. Volunteers are asked to bring an identity document, not be fasting and hydrate sufficiently.
In addition to these collections, people who are in a position to donate can do so at the headquarters of the Regional Hemotherapy Center, Bolívar 687. Donations are received there from Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 12 noon.
Minors, from the age of 16, are legally authorized to donate blood voluntarily and without the consent of an adult.

Who can donate blood
- People between 16 and 65 years of age,
- With a minimum body weight of 50 kilos,
- No history of heart, lung, liver, chagasic, oncological, infectious or other potentially risky disease for the recipient.
They cannot be donors
· Pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding
Those who have undergone surgery in the last 12 months
· Those who have had a piercing or tattoo in the last 12 months.
· Those who have had an endoscopy or colonoscopy in the last six months.
Other data
- People who have received the COVID-19 vaccine can donate 72 hours after inoculation, if they do not have symptoms.
- Those who have had COVID-19 and have overcome the disease can donate after 14 days of being discharged.
- Those who have received antibiotic medication should wait 14 days from the last dose.
- A person can donate blood with a minimum interval of two months. Men can do it up to four times a year, and women up to three times.
- Each person who donates blood can save up to three or four lives.
Before making the donation, the volunteer receives clear and precise information, a confidential interview is carried out and a medical professional performs the clinical control, consisting of taking the pulse, blood pressure, temperature and hemoglobin level.
If the person is able to donate, the extraction is carried out, following strict biosafety regulations.
