Qualified for the final tournament of the French N2 rugby 10 championship after having perfectly negotiated the regional phase then the zone in February and March, the players of Sylvain Mottet and Mathieu Lahaye dominated the Toulon universities in the semi-finals (17- 10) before giving way in the final against the University of Caen Normandy (5-10) on a ground swept by… a snowstorm. But the University of Lorraine, made up mostly of players from Nancy-Seichamps, did better than stand up to a Caen training in which most of the players evolve in Caen, undefeated leader in Elite 2.
Thanks to this second place, the regional squad qualifies for the final of the French rugby sevens championship, which will be played in Epernay from May 19 to 21. The University of Lorraine will be the sole representative of the geographical area (Hauts-de-France, Grand Est, Bougogne – Franche-Comté). A great reward…
