BI checking was once a credit history information service in the Debtor Information System (SID), which could be exchanged between banks and financial institutions.

The information exchanged in the SID includes the identity of the debtor, collateral, owners and management (business entities) who become debtors, the amount of financing received, and history of credit installment payments and bad loans.

Every bank and financial institution registered with the Credit Information Bureau (BIK) can access all information in the SID, including BI checking or Historical IDI.

The customer data is provided by BIK members to BI every month. The data is then collected periodically by BI and integrated into the SID system.

The name change is because the banking supervision function is no longer in BI, but handed over to OJK.

Within SILK, there is a credit history information service for banking customers and financial institutions called the debtor information service (iDeb).

Document check BI self-checking

There are a number of documents that must be prepared before cek BI Checking online. Documents for cek BI checking via HP for individual debtors is a photocopy of personal identity by showing the original identity in the form of:

• ID card for Indonesian debtors.
• Passport for foreign debtors.

Meanwhile, documents for BI checking via cellphone for debtors who have passed away are photocopies of personal identification by showing their original identities in the form of:

• Identity documents of parties who have family relations or heirs:
  • ID card for family/heirs of citizens.
  • Passport for WNA family/heirs.
• Document describing the death of the Debtor issued by the authorities (Death Certificate / Death Act).
• Documents that show family ties include family cards or birth certificates or heirs’ certificates.

Meanwhile, documents for BI checking via cellphone for business entity debtors, namely a photocopy of the legalized identity of the business entity and the identity of the management by showing the original identity of the business entity in the form of:

• Identity document of the Director of the business entity:
  • KTP for Indonesian Director.
  • Passport for foreign directors.
• Business entity’s Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).
• Business body establishment act. The final policy estimate of the business body which contains the order and authority of the manager.

For the record, OJK confirms that BI checking online or to access iDeb online cannot serve authorized requests.

Thus, continued OJK, consumers can make requests for iDeb independently without power of attorney or can only do BI checking themselves.

To check BI checking via HP, follow the BI checking procedure as follows:

• SLIK applicants register through the page https://konsumen.ojk.go.id/minisitedplk/registrasi.
• SLIK Applicant selects “Type of Applicant” and queue date.
  • The OJK Office is filled with the OJK Head Office (Jakarta).
  • Service date is the date the SLIK applicant will receive SLIK debtor information (iDeb) in the event that the requirements have been met.
  • The SLIK applicant selects the queue slot on the date and time that is still available then clicks “continue”.
• The SLIK applicant fills out all the required fields completely and correctly in accordance with the attached identity document.
  • Personal data is filled in correctly and completely on the form provided.
  • The “Address” column is filled in as stated on the identity document.
  • The “Other Address” column is filled with other addresses that have been occupied other than the address stated on the identity document.
  • Upload a photo/scan of the original document and select a destination for the application. To upload a document, select “camera” if you want to take a photo of your document directly.
  • Check/check the approval list and copy the text/captcha in the column provided
• The SLIK applicant uploads (uploads) photos/scans of the original required documents according to the needs/applications submitted.
• After registering by filling out the SLIK form online, the SLIK Applicant will receive an e-mail proof of registration for the online SLIK queue.

To continue checking BI checking via HP, it is necessary to verify data via WhatsApp. The OJK checks the data that has been inputted by the SLIK Applicant.

In the event that the data is correct, the SLIK Applicant will receive a validation e-mail from OJK no later than H-3 from the selected queue date.

SLIK applicants verify WhatsApp to the phone number as stated in the validation e-mail with a time span of D-3 to D-1 from the selected queue date by sending the following documents:

• Photo/scanned form completed with biological mother’s name and signature in 3 parts in the column provided.
• Selfie photo of the SLIK Applicant holding an identity document.

Furthermore, OJK will perform advanced verification via WhatsApp and make video calls if necessary.

In the event that the SLIK Applicant has fulfilled all the documents and the required time period, the SLIK Applicant will receive the results of the iDeb requested via e-mail that was registered at the time of registration.
