A person taken by an avalanche in Møre og Romsdal

The person is located and has been partially dug out of the tour group, the police report on Twitter. The avalanche victim is now on his way down from the mountain with the entourage.

The extent of the damage to the person is unknown, but it is reported that the person who has been avalancheed is going down himself.

– Still unknown extent of damage, the police write.

It is stated that there is a lot of fog on the site which makes the conditions difficult.

The landslide is said to have occurred at the bottom of Snortungen at 14:48.

Operations manager in Møre og Romsdal police district, Sindre Molnes, tells TV 2 that they have received resources on the spot.

At the moment they are setting a coordination point and trying to gather more resources.

Great resources

A large number of search crews have been called out. Including air ambulance, Norwegian rescue dogs, Red Cross, Norwegian People’s Aid, and avalanche dog from the police.

– We have a dog team on site. In such situations, we can use dogs in the area where the avalanche has passed. Then the dog can find people who are hidden from the naked eye.

This is what Emergency Management Manager Stig Mebust in Norwegian rescue dogs says to TV 2.

The police received the message at 14.48 from the other person who was in turn.

– There are two people who are together. Beyond that, we currently do not know more, says operations manager John Bratland to NTB.

According to a message on Twitter, the other person must be unharmed.

Poor visibility

NVE had issued on Sunday yellow warning for avalanches in Romsdal.

Due to the fog on the site, it is currently unknown how large the landslide is.

– A lot of loose, unbound snow, new precipitation and strong winds will provide snow transport to mainly eastern areas. Here you will get fresh jib snowflakes that are easy to release, they write in the danger warning.

The case is being updated!
