Viewers All of Holland are not sad about the dropout: ‘What arrogance’

During the first assignment, the candidates use all their creativity. They make a focaccia garden; an Italian focaccia decorated with a garden of vegetables and herbs. The majority of the participants go on the classic tour and the tent is bursting at the seams with olives and Italian herbs. But there are always people who do it completely differently like Enzo, who bravely goes for turmeric.

Zeinab also gives her bread a Middle Eastern touch. “I’m not a big fan of the Italian flavors myself,” she explains. Yet the jury in turn is not a fan of the ‘sour taste’ that her baking has acquired. Lynn also underperforms again and once again gets it into her head to contradict master baker Robèrt van Beckhoven when it comes to her ‘air bubbles’.

Of course, spring also includes honey, that’s what the technical round is all about. The bakers make a Greek honey pastry: Kataifi. It is similar to baklava, but with thin strands of dough. Only the Greek Yannis knows the delicacy. “I’m going to do my best to help everyone a little bit, but I do want to win the Greek assignment for once. Now I have the chance,” he says in front of the camera.

It is still quite a job to figure out exactly how that works, with a big mess of exploded batter as a result. Yannis also has a hard time with it. “Sorry Greece,” he mumbles before presenting his final result to the jury.

The bakers close the baking weekend with a floral spring spectacle. They make the edible flowers on the cake from scratch. The pregnant Lynn has been dangling at the bottom for a few episodes and Janny and Robèrt think it’s time for her to leave the tent. “I knew,” is her response. “Last week I was already at the bottom, now also a bit. So I already thought: I’ll really get it now (…) The level is high, that’s just difficult.”

Few viewers are sad about the fact that Lynn will no longer put the flowers in the program next week:

All of Holland Bakt can be seen every Saturday at 8.30 pm on NPO1. Watch this week’s episode here back.
