A survey by the publisher LumApps of 3,000 professionals shows that a majority find advantages in video content in their work, in particular for training.

More than 3,000 employees of large companies were interviewed in three countries, including France. Among the latter, more than nine out of ten find advantages in the use of video content in their work: 57% consider this content useful, 46% effective and 41% point to a better assimilation of information. More than half of respondents (52%) even say they prefer watching videos to reading content.
Asked about their preferences in terms of video content, respondents first mention videos for training or capacity building, cited by 60%, followed by tutorials and problem-solving guides (48%). They are also 47% believe that video is the best support for training on tools or software. Internal communication is also in good place, with 47% of respondents citing communications from general management and 46% commercial and financial news from their company. Finally, 43% mention HR content other than training, for welcoming new employees, for example. Employees surveyed also want to be able to watch their company’s videos while on the move, with 52% wanting to be able to view such content from their smartphones.
Data protection versus easy sharing
Finally, for a large proportion of survey participants, the place where their company’s videos are hosted is important: thus, 53% of them prefer internal hosting to hosting on external sites such as YouTube or Vimeo. , in particular for reasons of protection of their personal data and to avoid advertising on these platforms. Respondents working in IT functions also highlight, for 42% of them, the difficulty of managing video content on these external services. Among those who prefer external platforms, the first reason given is the ease of sharing content.
