Continuing to be one of the biggest stakeholders of communication around the world for years, WhatsApp has been offering voice messages since 2013. While the voicemail features in the application continue to develop, WhatsApp also announced new features that will come to voicemail in the coming period.
According to Webtekno, in the blog post shared by WhatsApp, it was stated that a total of 6 new features will come to the application. Among these new features, which aimed to improve the voice chat experience, there were some features that users wanted for a long time.
The new features coming to WhatsApp are as follows:
Non-chat playback: If you exit the chat where the audio recording is played on the phone, you will now be able to continue listening to the audio recording. In this way, you will be able to listen to incoming audio recordings while doing anything on your phone.
Pause/resume recording: When you need to collect your thoughts while recording audio, you can now pause the recording process and resume recording whenever you want.
Waveform visualization: Audio recordings will now be shown in waveform in the chat window to help track the recording.
Draft preview: You will now be able to listen to the audio you recorded before sending it to be sure of what you said before recording. (This feature is currently available to many users)
Remember to play: When you start the audio recording again after leaving the chat window halfway while listening to the audio recording, you will no longer have to manually scroll to where you left off. With this feature, the voicemail will automatically pick up where you left off when you return to the chat.
Fast playback on forwarded messages: Both regular and forwarded voice messages can now be played 1.5x or 2x faster. (This feature is currently available to many users)
