New Balance has chosen Zach LaVine as its new ambassador to represent the brand values of the sneaker firm that has shaken the world of sneakers the most in the last two years. This signing follows the firm’s philosophy of betting on strong, authentic figures who carve out success on their own terms.
Zach LaVine, originally from Seattle and now a defenseman for the Chicago Bulls, is the newest addition to Team New Balance; a lineup of top-performing athletes who are the face of the firm in its sports division. We can expect many more actions like this from the maker of sneakers “worn by supermodels in Milan and parents in Ohio.”
As he comments, “New Balance is a brand that is not only investing in me as a player, but as an individual.” This signing comes after Zach LaVine has led his team through an excellent season as he tries to lead them to the playoffs. He also helped the signing to be a double All-Star in the league… New Balance seems to know what he’s doing, and not just designing the most sought-after sneakers of recent seasons.

By the side of New Balance, the firm has been in a campaign to dominate the panorama that has been bearing fruit: on and off the pitch, the only thing we seem to see that is worth looking at is something that bears the “NB” logo. Within this great team of athletes under the umbrella we also have Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murray, Dejounte Murray, Sydney McLaughlin, Coco Gauff, Raheem Sterling, Sadio Mané and off the court they have Storm Reid and Jack Harlow.

Words from Naveen Lokesh, head of basketball sports marketing, who adds that “together, New Balance and Zach LaVine seek to change the sport and inspire the new generation of players”. So I would be careful if I worked at Jordan, adidas basketball or Reebok… there is a new actor in the panorama and he is coming to change things on the court in the same way that he has been doing it off it… ¿Now the kids will dream of some New Balance instead of with a Jordan 4?
Well, as we are seeing, everything points to yes: bringing fresh models and silhouettes to the market, with something more to contribute and associating with the right people, such as Zach LaVine, New Balance could finally dethrone the Nike-adidas binomial that we have seen and consumed all these years. Wearing New Balance is cool again… and it’s only the beginning.
