“The criterium of the Lamentin districts” very selective over 450 kilometers,

The cycling event, the “Criterium des Quartiers du Lamentin” is launched this Thursday, March 31, 2022 with a two-kilometre team time trial on the cycle ring of the Yves Adèle stadium. The 11th edition of this race brings together 17 teams including three guest teams from Guadeloupe and Normandy, i.e. around a hundred runners.



Canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the health context, the “cycling criterion of the Lamentin districts” will be disputed from this Thursday March 31 until Sunday April 3, 2022.

It is only at the end of the 450 kilometers disputed in four days that we will know the name of the successor of Willy Roseau of the Madinina Bikers, winner of the last edition in 2019.

Among the favorites, we cite the Estonian Gert Kivistik (Crédit-Mutuel Garage Premier) winner of the general classification of the Labéjof-Denise Memorial in two stages last Sunday (March 27). He got the better of the Colombian Diégo Armando Sorraca Cabézas of Team Pédale Pilotine who had nevertheless made a strong impression during the timed event.

In view of the proposed route, another Colombian José Léonel Diaz Esppitia (JC 231) is also a contender for the final victory, as is the Venezuelan Carlos Alberto Torrès Villaréal, Club Cycliste du Vauclin (CCV).

The local delegations are present and display some good individuals who can thwart many plans. Their names are: Marc Flavien (MB), Mickaël Stanislas (JC 231), Edwin Nubul (VCF). Émile Demazy (CCV), Ismaël Dénara, (MB), Jean-Émmanuel Laurendot and Thierry Ragot (ECD) among others.

The event welcomes guests for this 11th edition: Team Bricquebec Cotentin from Normandy and two teams from Guadeloupe (Madras cycling from Saint-François and CSCA cleanliness 2000 from Abymes).
