NHL: Taylor Hall and Tanner Jeannot fined

NEW YORK — Boston Bruins forwards Taylor Hall and Nashville Predators forward Tanner Jeannot have been fined $5,000 and $2,000, respectively, for dangerous acts.

Hall was punished for roughing after punching defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin in the Bruins’ 6-4 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

The incident occurred with just under five minutes left in the second period. Hall surprised Lyubushkin from behind and hit him in the side of the face with his glove, before pushing the defender off his balance. Hall had just taken a hit from the Leafs defenseman.

Hall received a minor penalty for roughing on the sequence for his reply.

Lyubushkin took over the direction of the locker room.

Jeannot was punished for kneeing Brady Tkachuk in the Predators’ 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.

The incident happened early in the third period. Jeannot appeared to position himself to hit the Senators captain in the knee.

The amounts of the fines distributed to Hall and Jeannot are the maximums for these actions according to the collective agreement.
