Blizzard: Diablo IV Includes Over 150 Dungeons – Gaming – News

Indeed, the statement “150 dungeons” doesn’t say much, how many dungeons did Diablo I, II & III have? Quite blandly, the games had millions of variations on a few themes, so it depends a bit on how exactly you define a unique ‘dungeon’.
I’m guessing they mean there are 150 ‘entrances’ spread over all the locations in D4 that will take you into a dungeon. I think these will just use the dungeon-generation algorithm and therefore use the tileset that belongs to the Act.

Diablo I (without expension) had 16 ‘storeys’, divided over 4 ‘acts’ (dungeon, catacombs, caves, hell). Diablo II had 56 dungeons (Den of Evil etc) spread over 5 acts.
in Diablo III it’s a bit hard to say… practically you’re constantly in Rifts/Greater Rifts so the ‘entries’ in the world map aren’t very relevant.

But in the end, Diablo IV has about 3 times as many dungeons as Diablo 2.
(also, Daggerfall had over 4000 dungeons with around 60 “designs” (tileset etc.))
