(sit) Something like this can rightly be described as a roller coaster ride of emotions: A used day caused the Crash Eagles in the Skaterhockey Bundesliga to lose 2:7 at home against Bissendorf, a gala evening only around 24 hours later for a 12:4 thrashing of German champions Crefelder SC.
Against the panthers, the eagles managed next to nothing. Weak defensive behavior, an unfortunate own goal and three goals conceded while outnumbered sealed the defeat. Nils Lingscheidt and Moritz Otten were the scorers for the unlucky hosts. In front of a good 200 spectators in the Horkesgath Arena, it was a duel between the losers against Krefeld, because the Bears had also started the double-match with a 5-6 defeat against Duisburg. But while the Kaarsters appeared like they had changed, the Skatingbears couldn’t get the lousy form from the day before out of their clothes. Two goals from Felix Wuschech and a goal from Patrick Petau gave the visitors a 3-0 lead in the first period. Even after the first break, the master’s expected attack failed to materialise. Instead, the Eagles threw up eight goals to make it 11:0 (!). Jakob Matzken, Dennis König, Moritz Otten, Tim-Niklas Wolff (2) and Thimo Dietrich (3) scored. Bitter, however: The famous goalie Richard Steffen sustained an injury during a rescue operation and had to vacate his place for youngster Max Drücker.

In the last third, the Eagles managed their lead, which Krefeld used to improve the result: Niklas Kleindienst, Fabian Zillen, Dustin Diem and Tom Klein were the home team’s scorers, while Lingscheidt netted for Kaarst. “As weak as the performance against Bissendorf was, the team presented itself as strong in Krefeld,” summed up CEK chairman Georg Otten. The Adler have no games at the weekend and can therefore prepare for the next home game against Augsburg on April 10th. Then Lennart Otten will be there again.
