Selular.ID – The Australian company’s Covid-19 diagnostic test app has been proven to work in 92% of cases, detecting infections with the same Omicron and Delta variants.
ResApp relies on the phone’s microphone to record and analyze the sound emitted by the lungs of a person infected with Covid-19.
Conducted at home, at a coronavirus testing center or hospital, ResApp test subjects return a positive or negative rate with an accuracy similar to the credibility of the announced rapid antigen test.
A spokesperson for the app company confirmed that its accuracy actually exceeds the “real world measurement of rapis test antigen sensitivity” returned by tests the patient performs at home.
The creators of ResApp have secured regulatory approval for an app that can screen your cough for other respiratory ailments like pneumonia or asthma.
So it is not impossible for testing for Covid-19 to be logical and natural.
Their sound filtering technology can even detect shortness of breath in people with sleep apnea.
That way, ResApp can become one more tool as a fast and accurate tool for diagnosing Covid-19 infections using only a cellphone.
