Chris made a joke about Jada’s bald head yesterday. He told her he couldn’t wait to get her in G.I. Jane , a film in which Demi Moore plays a soldier with that nickname with cropped hair. The joke was rather unfortunate, given that Jada suffers from the hair disease alopecia, a condition that causes a person to become partially or completely bald. Will didn’t like the joke either, so he went to the stage to slap Chris.

Still, a source now claims that the joke isn’t the only reason Will went off the rails, it says PEOPLE† Chris is also said to have joked about Jada during the Academy Awards in 2016. “When he presented the award show in 2016, Jada boycotted the show because she thought it was too ‘white’.” Chris would then have said that Jada couldn’t boycott the show because she wasn’t invited in the first place. “Will is still very angry about that,” the source told PEOPLE.
Will won another Best Actor award last night for his role in King Richard† In this film he plays the father of tennis players Serena and Venus Williams and managed to make a big impression on the sisters.

Jaden Smith, Will and Jada’s 23-year-old son, took to Twitter to respond to his father’s action. “That’s how we do it,” he tweeted after his father punched Chris.
