Today the flu vaccination campaign will begin in the province, aimed at the target population of approximately 280,000 people, including infants, children and adults. The province received 43 thousand doses, which were distributed to the different health centers of the city and the province.
The flu vaccine is included in the National Calendar, which means that it is free and compulsory for people considered to be at higher risk for the disease:
Health personnel
Over 65 years old
Pregnant, in any trimester of gestation
Postpartum women, who were not vaccinated during pregnancy and before leaving maternity.
Infants, 6 months to two years of age (two doses, one month apart)
People between 2 and 64 years of age with risk factors (comorbidities)
People with risk factors are considered those who present:
– Cardiovascular diseases
– Chronic respiratory diseases (COPD, pulmonary emphysema, asthma, etc.)
-·Renal insufficiency
-Immunocompromise (HIV or immunosuppressive medical treatment)
-·Diabetes
– Overweight or obesity
This group, except for people who are overweight or obese, must present a medical indication or other documentation stating the health condition.
The campaign will start, as usual, with health personnel. It is estimated that a total of around 300,000 doses will be received.
