Two Israelis were killed in an attack in the Israeli coastal town of Hadera tonight. Six people were injured, four of whom were taken to hospital. Police officers are also said to be among the victims. The Israeli police speak of a terrorist attack.
According to Israeli media, the perpetrators are two men from the Arab city in Israel Umm el-Fahm. Israeli police say the attackers opened fire in the street at a bus station. Officers who were nearby then allegedly shot and killed the perpetrators.
The attack took place around the start of a historic summit between the foreign ministers of Israel, Egypt, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and the US. Palestinian groups have been critical of Arab countries’ rapprochement with Israel.
Earlier this week, on Tuesday, four Israelis were also killed in an attack in the city of Beer Sheva. The attacker stabbed three people and hit a cyclist. The assailant was shot dead by Israeli civilians. It was one of the deadliest attacks in Israel in recent years. In addition to the four dead, two were injured.
