The National Council of Secretaries of Health of Brazil (Conass) reported on Saturday that the South American giant registered 29,922 cases of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 29,832,179 infections since the start of the pandemic, being one of the nations hardest hit by the pandemic.

Likewise, deaths in the last hours from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus were 196, for a total of 658,762 deaths since the start of the global health crisis.
According to the entity, the weekly average is 30,702 cases and 237 deaths. Compared to last Saturday, there was a decrease of 14,232 cases (equivalent to 32.23 percent) and some 108 fewer deaths (35.53 percent).

Compared to the same date in 2021, the decrease in cases is 64.48 percent, as there were 84,245 fewer infections and 3,650 fewer deaths, for a 94.63 percent decrease.
On Friday, the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) announced that for the first time since July 2020, the Covid-19 map in the country is green, since the 27 states are “outside the alarm zone” due to the virus.
According to Fiocruz researchers, infections throughout the country are below 60 percent and reflect the downward trend of the pandemic in Brazil.
