The fuel crisis in Italy is getting worse every day and the war complicates the picture.
For families, the risk is that of not being able to make ends meet and for trucks the real risk is that of stopping by leaving empty supermarkets and creating a real goods block.
Even companies are threatening to stop because with these costs of electricity, gas and petrol they can’t keep going. The Government intervened with a cut in excise duties of € 0.25 ma the breath of fresh air for the Italians was really short-lived.
Fuel prices relentlessly
Already a few days after the cut, the fuels resumed their gallop towards € 3. Already today they are back close to € 2 e according to many experts with the protracted conflict in Ukraine it will not take long because they reach the € 3 threshold.
A tremendous threshold that will mean yet another sting for families and for the country can mean a real paralysis. Italians are clearly trying to save in every way, but consumer protection associations warn about the trick that so many are using to lower the cost of diesel.
A trick to avoid with diesel
But as we will see, there is a much more concrete way to halve the price of fuel. Unfortunately, many Italians are putting Edible oils inside their diesel cars. Theoretically, edible oils could in some sense replace diesel, but there are two problems. The first is that this practice is illegal because it uses edible oil instead of diesel it means defrauding the state of excise duties and therefore risk very heavy fines. The second problem is that these Edible Oils are not born to be used in engines and they are very viscous, the consequence is that the engine actually risks being damaged if not to freeze completely.
The real savings
Consumer Protection Association strongly advise against using these methods and instead recommend much more sensible savings strategies. Before seeing what is the practice that is allowing many Italians to halve the petrol and yet It is important to remember that keeping your car in perfect order is very important because it saves a lot of petrol. In fact, a car that runs badly wastes a lot of fuel. But what the associations that protect consumers really recommend is the use of carpooling. In fact, the carpooling applications allow you to share the journey with those who make the same journey as ours. Unsurprisingly, their use has been spreading widely in recent weeks.
