‘Brainstorm’ and Katrīna Gupalo to take part in an international charity concert dedicated to Ukraine in Warsaw

An international charity concert “Save Ukraine – #StopWar” will take place in the Polish capital Warsaw on Sunday, March 27, with the participation of Latvian musicians in addition to European stars – “Brainstorm” a Katrīna Gupalo.

In Latvia, the concert will be available on Latvian Television, as well as on several screens in Riga and other Latvian cities. The concert starts at 6.30 pm.

“Everyone is invited not only to watch the concert at home, but also to go to the urban environment and support Ukraine, watching the event on the big screens in Latvia as well,” the organizers of the concert write.

The screens will be located in Riga near the Congress House, in Sigulda – in the Sigulda Devons Concert Hall, Mālpils Culture Center, as well as in Vienibas Square in Daugavpils.

Latvia will be represented in this marathon by the group “Brainstorm”, as well as Katrīna Gupalo and friends. World-renowned artists such as Imagine Dragons, Nothing But Thieves, Fatboy Slim, Craig David, the winners of the International Eurovision Song Contest – Salvador Sobrals and Netta, as well as Ukrainian artists “Dakha Brakha”, have also confirmed their participation. , “The Hardkiss”, Jamala, Go_A, Monatik, Alyona Alyona and others.

Musicians, artists, civic activists, opinion leaders, actors, athletes and volunteers from around the world will support Ukraine with a two-hour concert that will be broadcast on several television channels in about 20 countries in Europe and the world, as well as on various streaming platforms and social networks. At the same time, before, during and after the broadcast, funds will be raised for Ukraine’s humanitarian crisis as a result of Russia’s military invasion.

The aim of this marathon is to further strengthen the public’s desire to resist Russia’s expansion. The people of Ukraine feel and truly appreciate the support provided by the whole world, from basic necessities to strong military assistance. To end the war sooner, we can act and show even more support for Ukraine by exerting stronger pressure on the aggressor to unite.

The charity TV marathon “Save Ukraine – #StopWar” is organized by the team of “1 + 1” and “Atlas Festival” together with the support of the national telecommunications company “Kyivstar”, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. The concert in Latvia is coordinated by the “Latvian Music Development Association / Latvian Music Export”.

The graphic symbol of the charity TV marathon, which serves as the basis for all its visual communication, is a sunflower created by the Ukrainian artist Daniel Skrypnyk. The organizers of the event acknowledge that such cooperation can reach a wider audience, because Daniela’s works are admired by people in many countries around the world.

It has already been reported that on February 24 this year, Russia invaded Ukraine, waging a devastating war and creating an unprecedented humanitarian crisis since World War II. So far, international negotiations to end the war have yielded no results.

Russia’s policy has received strong and unequivocal condemnation from the Western world, and extensive economic sanctions have been imposed on Russia and also on Belarus. In Ukraine, on the other hand, the war has caused a humanitarian catastrophe and several million people have been forced to flee their homes.
