He arrived shortly before the end of the second minute of the opening round. The wrestlers embarked on a short shootout, from which Matheus Nicolau came out better. David Dvořák was probably aware that in the first round his opponent had the upper hand, so he started the next part of the match more actively. His offensive resulted in a calf kick, which he soon repeated. When it seemed that the Czech wrestler would score the second round, Matheus Nicolau also led the attack in the last minute. Matheus Nicolau left nothing to chance in the third round. Although he struck a hard hook for his opponent, he stopped him, even though it was clear that David Dvořák had huge problems. The Brazilian was in the mood and literally destroyed him. Although Matheus Nicolau seemed to be out of breath at the end of the fight, David Dvořák could no longer take a shot to end the match before the limit.
The winner was finally decided by the judges, who rarely agreed on a score of 29:28.
