President of the United States (USA) Joe Biden nicknamed the President of Russia Vladimir Putin war criminals due to his invasion of Ukraine. Now, Biden has another nickname for Putin, namely ‘butcher’.
As reported by AFP, Saturday (26/3/2022), Biden made this statement on the sidelines of his meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Rezniko. Biden also visited the Ukrainian refugee center in Warsaw, Poland.
Biden visits the Ukrainian refugee center at the Polish National Stadium in Warsaw. On that occasion, Biden was asked his opinion on Putin’s actions to order Russia invades Ukraine.
Biden answered simply. He called Putin a butcher.
“He’s a butcher,” Biden said.
It’s not clear what Biden meant by saying Putin was a butcher. But the statement was made in front of Ukrainian refugees in Warsaw Poland.
Furthermore, Biden also instructed Ukrainian children to pray for their brothers who are fighting in Ukraine.
“I remember how it feels when you have someone in a war zone and every morning you wake up and you wonder, you just wonder, you pray that you don’t get that phone call,” said Biden, whose son Beau served in Iraq before died of a brain tumor.
Biden calls Putin a war criminal
In addition to mentioning butchers, Biden has apparently used other names for Putin due to his invasion of Russia. Joe Biden calls Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal. He said it was for Putin’s actions to carry out the bloody invasion of Ukraine.
“I thought he was a war criminal,” Biden said.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed Biden was speaking from his heart after seeing images on television of “the barbaric act by a brutal dictator through his invasion of a foreign country”.
Psaki said the US State Department also had “ongoing legal proceedings” to examine Russia’s actions.
This is the first time Biden has used the phrase ‘war criminal’ for Putin. Then Biden also had time to renew his rhetorical attack on Wednesday (16/3) here. tweeted that “Putin wreaked terrible devastation and horror in Ukraine – bombing apartment buildings and maternity wards.”
