Warsaw

President of the United States (USA) Joe Biden met with two ministers Ukraine in Warsaw Poland. Their meeting was called to discuss the situation and conditions Ukraine since the Russian invasion.

As reported by AFP, Saturday (26/3/2022), Biden held face-to-face meetings with Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov in Warsaw Poladia. The meeting is the first since Russia invaded Ukraine.

The meeting is said to have taken place at the Marriott Hotel in the city center, opposite the Warsaw train station, where there has been a constant flow of Ukrainian refugees since the conflict began.

Biden was seen sitting at a long white table accompanied by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Biden sat facing Kuleba and Reznikov with the Ukrainian and US flags in the background.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said the officials discussed the United States’ commitment to defending Ukraine’s sovereignty. On that occasion, he said, Blinken and Austin also pledged continued support to Ukraine.

“The officials discussed the United States’ unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Ned Price told reporters.

“Blinken and Austin pledged continued support to meet Ukraine’s humanitarian, security and economic needs,” he added.

To note, Biden actually met Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba in Washington on February 22, 2022. The meeting came two days before Russia began its offensive.

Since then, Kuleba has also met Blinken in Poland next to the border with Ukraine on March 5.

Biden is on the second and final day of his visit to Poland after he met EU and NATO leaders in Brussels earlier this week.

After speaking with Ukrainian ministers, Biden met Polish President Andrzej Duda at the presidential palace.
