In September 2019, the former soapie became discredited. She was accused of assaulting a police officer. She was sentenced to 45 hours of community service. Robin, who had never come into contact with the police until before the incident, could never have imagined that she would experience such a thing. According to her, the corruption that you see in films or series also exists in the Netherlands.
“There are nasty people in this world and that cop is one of them. I dare say that if you lie that I hit you eight times. And if you claim that you have been lying on the floor, when that is absolutely not the case there were many witnesses, but seven of them were police officers.

Robin says that “her eyes have been opened” and that she hardly watches any news since the incident. “After the incident was in the press, I got all kinds of private messages saying I had to die and that I was a rescuer abuser,” she says.
“I almost made the wrong choice at that time. I didn’t want to anymore. I locked myself in my house for a month because I didn’t dare go outside. I was afraid that people would see me as ‘that cop abuser’. I climbed out of that deep valley with great difficulty.”
