The Chilean edtech Ninja Excel started operations in Peru, its first international location, and in the coming months it will expand to Colombia and Mexico. This online learning platform trains company employees in Microsoft Excel under the learning by doing methodology. “It is a highly demanded tool in the labor market, as it adds transversal value to organizations, leaders and teams”says Fátima Muñoz, head of Sales for Ninja Excel in Peru.
As of September 2020, Ninja Excel It has trained more than 4,500 employees from some 100 companies in Chile, such as Banco Falabella, Mall Plaza, Inchcape and Sodexo. In 2021 it reached a turnover of US$ 460,000. During its first year in our country, the edtech aims to train more than 3,000 workers from between 50 and 60 companies.
Ninja’s Growth Excel attracted the interest of Buk, a regional technology firm for human resources management (Peru, Chile, Colombia, Mexico) valued at more than US$400 million, which in 2021 bought 100% of the edtech after the injection of capital from the investment funds SoftBank and Greenoaks.
Ninja’s Platform Excel works 24/7 and is integrated with Microsoft software Excel. This allows the user to interact with a spreadsheet and develop practical exercises that simulate daily problems. There is also an online chat with a Microsoft certified teacher.
There are three training modules in Excel (basic, intermediate and advanced). Courses are approximately 15 hours long and can be completed in a month. The investment is US$ 120 per level and per collaborator.
“As a result of the pandemic, edtechs They have grown a lot. Companies that were still reluctant to online training have realized that it is possible to have quick results and that asynchronous platforms allow the student to be in control and to progress at their own pace”Munoz explains.
