The vampire bats live up to their name. They are the only mammals that feed exclusively on blood. The three species of vampire bats specialize in different prey, their involuntary blood donors ranging from small birds to large mammals such as cows and horses. Occasionally people are also tapped – but there is only a risk of this on the American continents.
