Only a few days have passed since the cut in excise duties, and a new storm is already brewing on gasoline and diesel prices.
The 22 March 2022was the day on which the energy decree made his debut. This decree established a cut of the excise duty of 30.5 cents a liter for gasoline, and brought a great breath of fresh air, as the price had far exceeded 2 euro liter. From the day of the price review, one could find distributors offering gasoline between 1.65 euro e 1.75 euro. Definitely more sustainable for Italians, who have seen an increase of more than 50% also the prices of supplies of the gas e electricity.
Just a few crafty it did not comply with the new directives, but thanks to the reports of many citizens, they immediately adapted after the controls of the Finance Police.
It seemed that this situation had found its own finebut good news is short-lived, and here comes one new storm on the horizon for i prices of fuels.
Less than two days after cut of the excisesince this morning the distributors have returned to raise prices.
That’s why the price is going up again
The economic instability we are witnessing brings uncertainty to the markets, and fuel prices have risen again since this morning. The cost of fuels has risen to 1.82 for the diesele 1.86 for the gas.
But How come this inflation? The motivation is very simple. If on the one hand it is cut the costs of excise duties, which they did lower the price, on the other hand the international oil prices are back to go out dizzyingly.
Here then is the price again increasedalmost eating 1/5 of the price cut of the excise. Also it is feared that in the coming days, the cost of the barrel can go up even more, effectively making the provision made vain.
Let’s not forget also that from April 21 the decree ends “Price cuts”, and no renewals have been promoted. And if a solution is not found before this date, the price can easily overcome the 3 euro liter, which would be a disaster for the Italian economy.
Draghi he has already declared the need for others interventionseven if we wonder if these are sufficient, since the price fails to fall even by cutting excise duties.
