Marcus Danielson, 32, has fallen out of the Chinese top league with his Dalian – and he has long been linked with a return to Djurgården. Since the league game in China ended last winter, the midfielder has, for example, trained with his old club before the ongoing national team gathering.
But no move back to Djurgården will get rid of before the Swedish transfer window closes next Thursday, March 31.
– There is not much (that speaks for it). I have my contract there, the club is happy with me and has no thoughts of selling or letting me go. That’s what I have to follow. I am set on going back to China and continuing there, says Danielson to Fotbollskanalen.
Have you told the Chinese club that you would have liked to go back to Djurgården?
– No, I have not done that.
What conversations do you have with Djurgården?
– I have trained with them for a long period before this collection, so I come across Bosse (Andersson, sports director) at regular intervals and talk to the coaches. But it’s mostly the everyday. It’s no other talk.
Will it be Djurgården when the contract expires after 2022?
– I do not know. We shall see.
Do you want that?
– One thought is that I will play in Djurgården again in my career. Then when it will be I do not know.
Danielson left Djurgården for Dalian in February 2020. His contract with the Chinese club expires in 2022.
