MOSCOW, KOMPAS.TV – Commander of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, accused the United States through the United States (US) Navy Medical Center of conducting biological research in Indonesia in 2010.
It is also said that the results of the research were not shared with the government in Jakarta, as reported by the news agency RIA NovostiThursday (24/3/2022).
“Such an unacceptable approach, with the tacit approval of the US government, is the norm for large pharmaceutical companies. Due to many violations, the Indonesian government in 2010 stopped research activities at the US Navy Medical Center in Jakarta,” said Kirillov.
Kirillov further alleged that the US carried out work at a laboratory facility in Jakarta outside the framework of an agreed research program, carried out biological sampling and refused to inform the Indonesian government of the results achieved.
Surprisingly, “The materials they receive are used for the benefit of the pharmaceutical company affiliated with the Pentagon, namely Gilead, which is testing its drugs, including on the territory of Ukraine and Georgia,” the Russian general said.
Early in March, Russia launched a vociferous accusation over the findings of a network of biological laboratories in Ukraine. Turkish news agency Anatolia reported on March 9, the US military is said to be involved in funding and controlling the laboratory.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova at the time disclosed the findings of documents showing “biological weapons components being developed in Ukraine” at a laboratory controlled by the Pentagon, the US.
Zakharova at the time emphasized that these activities violated the Biological Weapons Convention. Russia then convened a UN Security Council meeting on the issue, but failed to gain support.
Previously, Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov claimed that the Russian army had obtained documents that said the US-Ukraine developed dangerous viruses and bacteria. Kirillov also suspected that the US-Ukraine violated the Biological Weapons Convention.
