Niort has found a new quality in 2022, solidity. 7th in Ligue 2, the Chamois have not conceded a goal in the last four meetings. This stat rewards the performance of goalkeeper Quentin Braat, nominated for the title of ML2 player of the month for January. He gives an interview in The New Republic this Tuesday. Last season’s hardships have transformed the team, according to the goalkeeper.

« We have to continue to build on that. To first defend well, with the quality that we have offensively in quick attack, that is our strength at the moment. Last season it was complicated. We did not have the same confidence as now. The play-off match (against Villefranche, in May 2021) really helped us […] It’s having the same group that helps. In training, we are always together. We always have the same landmarks. »
On his personal performance: I am much more serene and this allows me to have more self-confidence. This helps relieve the team in the air. The fact that we are solid and serene perhaps unconsciously translates into my performances. We concede few chances and few shots, so compared to last season when I had to make five or six saves per game, that changes. »
