iPad Air 5 (2022) test: a professional look

The iPad Air got a facelift in 2020: new design, redesigned Touch ID sensor, better quality camera… This version was the equivalent of a small iPad Pro, and it was hard to ask to do more given its very good value for money. Unsurprisingly, the 2022 version doesn’t turn everything upside down and looks a lot like a “simple” upgrade: an M1 chip, support for Centered Frame, a little 5G and pack it, it’s weighed. It may not seem like much, but this update allows the tablet to stay in the race while largely maintaining its lead from a hardware point of view.

A design that does not change

It is very difficult to tell the difference between an iPad Air 4 and this new model at first glance. We find the same smooth and industrial design, the same colorful look and the “premium” grip to which the Apple has accustomed us. The only element betraying this new version comes from the colors, which are slightly different this year. “Silver” becomes “Starlight”, “Rose Gold” becomes “Pink”, “Sky Blue” becomes “Blue”…
