Out in the round of 16
At the World Cup season finale for snowboard crossers in Veysonnaz, Switzerland, Umito Kirchwehm from Freiburg from SC Altglashtten and Paul Berg from Constance were eliminated in the round of 16 after a fall. Both took the shared 17th place. Kirchwehm finished the overall World Cup in 24th place, Berg in 20th place. Martin Nrl (DJV/SV Adlkofen) finished ninth to win the big crystal globe for the first time as overall World Cup winner in snowboard cross.
SEXUALIZED VIOLENCE
Seminar protection concept
The Black Forest Ski Association (SVS) is offering a seminar on Saturday, April 9th at the Hotel Fortuna in Kirchzarten, in which protection concepts for children and young people against sexualised violence will be presented. The SVS protection officer Ulrike Sutter as well as speakers from the Wildwasser association and from the crime prevention department of the Freiburg police headquarters will provide information and raise awareness on the subject. Representatives from the SVS associations and external parties can take part. The training lasts from 8.15 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Register with the ski association by e-mail at: [email protected].

EYOF Einstze fr Lewe
Matteo Lewe from SV Kirchzarten is currently proving himself at the EYOF, the European Youth Olympic Festival, which is being held in Vuokatti, Finland. In the men’s skating race over ten kilometers, the 18-year-old cross-country skier finished 24th in the field of 76 starters with a time of 22:55.5 minutes. In the classic individual start race over 7.5 kilometers on Tuesday, Lewe took 21st place among 73 finishers in 21:09.6 minutes. The Finn Niko Anttola won both races. At the EYOF, around 1800 participants between the ages of 14 and 18 from 48 nations start in various winter sports.

A treat for handball fans in Breisgau: On the occasion of the 50th anniversary celebrations of SG Kndringen-Teningen, second division club Eulen Ludwigshafen will be coming to a friendly game in Teningen’s Ludwig-Jahn-Halle on July 27, 8 p.m. Teninger Pascal Bhrer has been in the Eulen squad since the first division.

In the second away competition of the premier league season, the gymnasts of the TG Breisgau suffered their first defeat: the gymnasts from Breisgau lost 30:34 at the TG Hegau-Bodensee. After being 15:31 behind, they started to catch up on parallel bars and high bar – but without a happy ending.

With sixth place in the Baden-Württemberg Ski League final, the Skiverband Schwarzwald 1 team with Moritz Waibel (SZ Mllheim), Nils Haser (ST Freiburg), Damaris Vetter (SC Kandel) and Thorben Lotz (SC Konstanz) qualified for the German team championship on Allguer Oberjoch.
