Saint Loup. Photo-Club: white balance work

The Saint-Loup Photo-Club workshop, which was held on Wednesday March 16, made it possible to find, without health constraints, members to understand what the purpose of white balance, color temperature and its settings is . The term white balance refers to the color temperature of the light source that illuminates the photographed scene. Adjusting the white balance therefore consists in taking into account the color cast of the lighting to give the most neutral rendering possible to the scene. The color temperature, expressed in Kelvin (K), designates the color of a light source. The color cast can be compensated for in post-processing with suitable software. You can opt for the automatic mode or, if you know precisely the nature of the light, you can choose one of the settings offered: incandescent, fluorescent, tungsten, sunny, flash, cloudy, shade. Using the white balance makes it possible to harmonize the photo series and also to be a creative element.

The practical workshop allowed everyone to be able to make their various adjustments according to the various sources of lighting in order to fully understand their advantages.

The next workshop will take place on Wednesday March 30, on speed adjustment, with scenarios that will hold many surprises!
