The anti-corruption commission confiscated the property of businessman Vasil Bozhkov in France. This happened after a decision of the Sofia City Court, the deputy chairman of the commission Anton Slavchev told BTA.

This is the first case of foreclosed property of a Bulgarian abroad. The real estate is an individualized object of a complex – a residential building and is the subject of a civil case for confiscation in favor of the state of illegally acquired property. Its market value amounts to BGN 2,611,228.63, Slavchev added.

According to him, the procedure took place in parallel in our country and in the Republic of France, and according to French law, special proceedings were conducted, according to their Civil Enforcement Code. It is managed by a notary. In the course of these proceedings, the legality and correctness of the measure was confirmed and its registration with the Paris Mortgage Registration Service was ordered.
