The German-Russian Sorokin pretended to be the wealthy German heiress ‘Anna Delvey’ in the New York jet set for years. With her deception she managed to get more than 200,000 dollars (169,000 euros) from hotels, restaurants, banks and a private airline. In 2019 she was sentenced to twelve years in prison, but was released on parole after just under four years. Because she had overstayed her US visa, Anna recently ended up in jail again.

And like a cunning fox she has not yet lost her tricks. She has already built up a network in prison. In this way she can easily continue to arrange her affairs: “I have an assistant. For example, it helps me to get a working tablet and to get more calling minutes.” According to ‘Bild’, her bank regularly transfers an amount to her: “They think I’m super rich. They don’t really care how I get the money.” She does not regret her actions much. Not only did her charms seem to work financially, she also says that she gets “marriage proposals every day”.

Last week several American sources wrote that Anna was released by the American immigration service. She was stuck there because her visa had expired. The plan was to have Sorokin fly over to Frankfurt, Germany, but it was subsequently announced that that plan had not been carried out.
