American rapper Baby Cino was shot dead shortly after his release from prison. The 20-year-old from Miami, whose real name was Timothy Starks, had been jailed for alleged gun possession.

Starks, known for the song Big Haiti Shottashad just been released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, the local newspaper reported Miami Herald† The rapper was picked up in a red Nissan, which was fired upon moments later from another car as it entered the Palmetto Expressway. Stark’s car hit a wall and the rapper suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including to his head.
A friend who picked up Starks, Dante Collins Banks, was also shot. He was treated in hospital and is now at home. Police are investigating the incident and suspect a car stopped at the Nissan and fired 40 shots. A dark-colored vehicle that drove away from the area at high speed after the incident is being searched for.
According to the Miami Herald Stark was a member of the Boss Life gang in the Little Haiti neighborhood.
