The Paulo Marques Rangel Health Center, in Porto do Rosa, has more specialties and services offered. The number of monthly calls increased from 6,000 to 35,000, on average, compared to the same period last year.
“We expanded the specialties offered and the health programs that were not working effectively. Today, they work with propagation and health promotion as they should. The dressing room, for example, did 100 a month. Now, there are more than 300. The pending issues at the Regulation Center were more than 1,000 when we arrived. We organized a joint effort to eliminate this backlog, which no longer exists”, explained the administrative director, André de Souza Silva.
Consultations for pediatrics, medical clinic, obstetrics and prenatal care have spontaneous demand, that is, they can be booked directly at the health unit without having to go through the Regulation Center. Thus, the patient goes to the unit and leaves with the appointment schedule. They take, on average, a month to wait.
Other specialties can be inserted into the system at the health center, but the appointments are made by the Regulation Center. Services are also direct at the unit, but some are offered on specific days and times.
The health center is a reference for several surrounding neighborhoods, which have a needy population and who are often unable to go to the Center or to other health units in search of other specialties.
There were also structural changes and works, which are still happening, to provide more comfort to patients and staff. The unit will receive works in the bathrooms, in the infectious waste collection sector and is receiving air conditioning in the rooms.
The Leprosy Program should also be implemented in the unit in the future. “We are advancing and improving every day. We made the team understand that everyone is important within the health unit, from the reception to the doctor. Nobody leaves here without being welcomed, even if they don’t have the type of care they need at the unit”, concluded the administrator of the place, Jean Charles Aguiar da Silva.
