Military expert Ukraine Vyacheslav Tseluiko said the threat of nuclear war should not be ignored. He called the President’s madness Russia Vladimir Putin it is not impossible to make a nuclear war happen.
“Given Putin’s madness, nuclear war cannot be ruled out,” he said Kyiv IndependentSaturday (19/3).
Earlier, Putin ordered to put his country’s nuclear deterrent forces on alert, effectively threatening the world with nuclear war.
Moreover, when starting the invasion Putin said that any outside country that tried to interfere in the war in Ukraine would face “consequences that they have never seen in their history.”.
That statement can be interpreted as a threat of nuclear war.
On the other hand, Russia’s decision to increase its nuclear capabilities allegedly influenced NATO’s decision-making.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said Americans should not worry about a possible nuclear threat.
He has also shown that he is ready to go to great lengths to avoid an escalation with Russia.
Even so, the US continued to supply Ukraine with weapons, except for fighter jets that Ukraine requested, or to agree to a NATO-imposed no-fly zone over Ukraine.
Biden defended the decision by saying the US wanted to avoid World War III.
However, it is currently unclear whether the West’s reluctance to defend Ukraine reduces the risk of nuclear war or increases it by encouraging Putin to carry out further acts of aggression.
